Fun Around Sea Isle
Our Sea Isle beach rentals in Galveston is near all the great fishing spots at San Luis Pass. It’s also close to the wetlands, Galveston Island State Park and Jamaica Beach. Captain Hal Newson’s Air Boat Tours is also on the west end and offers a fun way to explore Galveston Bay’s scenery and marine life.
The Galveston Country Club is a short drive away, where you can enjoy lunch, tennis, bar drinks and some seriously great golfing. Meet new people or relax in an intimate sophisticated setting. If you’re looking for spots to have dinner on the west end, Nate’s West End, Mario’s Pizza and Waterman’s Seafood Grill are the most popular. The West End Marina also offers waterfront dining, right in Sea Isle!
If you want to tour the island, downtown Galveston’s Seawall is about a 15-minute drive away. Down by 25th street, you can find the tour stops for adventures like the Treasure Island Tour Train, or the Duck Boat Tours. For those with an interest in the island’s history, check out the Victorian-inspired horse-drawn carriage tours offered by Island Carriages, or take the excellent audio tour of Bishop’s Palace, a Victorian mansion which survived the Great Storm of 1900. There are also some spooky ghost tours available on the island, which include plenty of history as well.
If you’re looking for a more adventurous tour, then head downtown near Harborside for Baywatch Dolphin Tours. They take you out into the beautiful bay for some serious dolphin watching. If you want a workout at the same time as your tour, call up Beach Town Tours, which offers a look at Galveston via kayaking. This tour is growing in popularity and also provides training for first-time kayakers and detailed information about the island. They offer several options, including evening paddles, and are also open to you creating your own custom tour.
For action-packed family fun, Galveston can’t be beat. Get away from your Sea Isle beach rental in Galveston and enjoy a day riding beach cruisers along the Seawall, and stop over at the Historic Pleasure Pier to play some carnival-style games and ride the roller coaster. Or spend the day (or night) fishing at one of the all-night fishing piers. Or have fun splashing all day at Schlitterbahn water park! In Galveston, the possibilities are endless!
When you head back to Sea Isle Galveston along the Seawall, you’ll notice a Wal-Mart and Kroger before you hit 61st. Stock up on groceries, ice and any other supplies you may need for your stay. There are also tons of fresh seafood markets, and you know there’s nothing like a fresh seafood boil or clam bake! Since the vacation homes have a full kitchen, you can cook as much as you’d like. Dinner under the moonlight on your own oversized deck overlooking the ocean is a perfect end to your perfect vacation day!
