Pirate’s Beach

Pirate’s Beach

Pirate’s Beach, Galveston is one of Galveston’s well-known neighborhoods and beaches. Pirate’s Beach offers beach homes, beach castles, and bayside homes off of 12 Mile Road and FM3005. You’ll find Pirate’s Beach right before Galveston Island State Park and Jamaica Beach. The neighborhood is a bit larger and is separated into three subdivisions – Pirate’s Beach, Pirate’s Beach West, and Pirate’s Cove. The Galveston Country Club and the Golf Course are located in Pirate’s Cove off of Stewart Road and 12 Mile Road. Ryson has a few beach homes in Pirate’s Beach with access to the Galveston Country Club.

What makes this Pirate’s Beach neighborhood so unique is the eclectic array of houses. Some homes are large and others are smaller cottages but each home has ocean views, open air decks and windows galore. The architecture and blend of styles is also special.

Pirate’s Beach has its own small grocery mart, liquor store and even fresh seafood markets or bait shops. If you want to stock up on some essentials, Hummel’s General store is right there. It is a “one stop shop” for groceries, ice, fresh deli sandwiches and pizza, pretty much all the goodies you may need for a vacation weekend. Their “Cave” is loaded with beer and wine; it’s the best selection on the island.

Right next door you’ll find Allex’s Seafood Market and they offer a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood. Cook it up anyway you like it because the Pirate’s Beach kitchens are ideal for preparing a yummy meal.

While you won’t really need to leave the Pirate’s Beach area during your stay but if you do want to step away and enjoy other parts of the island you can start at the Seawall.

Stop by “island famous” and local hangout The Spot. Perfect ocean views, laid back atmosphere and tasty menu – make this landmark establishment a must see before you leave Galveston. Before you leave this side of the island head down the street to Murdoch’s, and pick up a souvenir or kick back and take a nap in their oversized rocking chairs.

Then you’ll want to head over to Southern Spears Surf Shop for the best selection of surf boards and beach gear. If you still haven’t found what you’re looking for hop over to Dolphin World for a huge selection of accessories and beach items.

Pirate’s Beach is so convenient you won’t really have to venture far from your vacation rental but if you do want to roam it’s in a perfect location to check out all the island has to offer.
