Black Pearl Oyster Bar 

A local favorite, this Galveston dining destination specializes in all things oyster, though entrées like blackened snapper, crab-stuffed flounder, fried catfish, and crawfish po’boys will win you over, too. 

Miller’s Seawall Grill 

Miller’s Seawall Grill is known for their amazing views and incredible breakfasts, although they serve lunch and dinner as well. Located right on the Seawall, this place will surely satisfy your appetite no matter the size. 


Rudy & Paco 

For a fancy night out, Rudy’s is a high-end Central and South American-influenced steakhouse and seafood restaurant. Try the plantain-crusted Gulf red snapper or the mango habanero grilled salmon. Stick to the dress code if you’re going for dinner; shorts are only allowed at lunch and at the bar. 

Mario’s Seawall Italian Restaurant 

If you want authentic and delicious Italian cuisine, Mario’s Seawall Italian Restaurant is the place for you! From lobster ravioli to pizza to gelato, this restaurant has everything Italian, right on the Seawall. 

Shearn’s Seafood & Prime Steaks 

Located at Moody Gardens Resort, Shearn’s offers gourmet meals in an elegant environment. This is one of Galveston’s most upscale restaurants on the island, earning the AAA’s Four Diamond Award of Excellence every year since 2004. 

Yaga’s Cafe 

Located right next to Saengerfest Park in the Historic Strand District, Yaga’s Cafe is a more “low-key” dining experience. Enjoy great burgers, pizza, and other casual meals in their shady outdoor seating or in their ambiance-filled interior. 

Gypsy Joynt 

A hidden gem of Galveston dining, Gypsy Joynt offers American fare done well, from burgers and sandwiches to gourmet mac and cheese and all manner of pastries. 

Shrimp ‘N Stuff 

As delicious as it is inexpensive, Shrimp ‘N Stuff is where you go to gorge yourself on seafood po’boys, stuffed shrimp, fish tacos, and buckets of beer. There are 2 locations, one downtown and another on Ave. O. 

Gaido’s Seafood Restaurant 

Serving Galveston and famous figures since 1911, Gaido’s Seafood Restaurant is fine dining that specializes in a decadent seafood cuisine. They also have incredible pecan pie 

Mosquito Café 

Nestled inside of a historic home from the 1850s, Mosquito Café specializes in Asian-inspired bowls, curried ahi tuna, and steak tacos, with a variety of options for vegetarians. 

Little Daddy’s Gumbo Bar 

This gumbo joint serves up gumbo and etouffee alongside cioppino and other kettle-cooked stews, as well as po’boys, steamed mussels, and salads. 

Katie’s Seafood Market 

One of the longest running markets and seafood suppliers in Galveston is Katie’s Seafood Market. They supply a lot of local restaurants, mostly with fish and shellfish from local waters. There is a seafood house next door for a dining experience with some of the freshest seafood around.
