ArtWalk. ArtWalk is typically scheduled every six weeks and it’s always scheduled on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. Art galleries and shops stay open late, from 6 to 9 p.m., so locals and visitors can enjoy downtown Galveston. Holiday Shows at The Grand. Everyone loves a Christmas show and you don’t have to travel far to see one. Check the calendar for the holiday shows featured at The Grand 1894 Opera House, located in Galveston’s Cultural Arts District on Postoffice Street.   

Holiday Shopping on the Galveston Strand. During the holiday season. Galveston’s historic downtown is transformed for the holidays. Look for added Christmas trees and holiday lights throughout The Strand District and Postoffice Street District as well as West Market.  

Historic Homes and Galveston Museums. Galveston’s Historic House Museums are always decorated for the holidays often with vintage-inspired decor. Make sure to stop by 1895 Moody Mansion and Museum, 2618 Broadway, and 1892 Bishop’s Palace, 1402 Broadway, to take a look. The Bryan Museum, 1315 21st Street, is another great stop.
