Our Cleaning Guidelines

Keeping everyone safe with our Covid-19 Guidelines

Our Cleaning Guidelines

Cleanliness has always been important to us at Ryson Vacation Rentals. We have always had extensive cleaning routines that take place before and after each guest stays in one of our properties. However, during these unprecedented times, we have raised our standard. Ryson’s cleaning guidelines will now follow  CDCVRMA/VRHP, and local health official guidelines to ensure we do our part in helping stop the spread of COVID-19.

Our knowledge on the virus is increasing quickly and often, so staying informed and up-to-date is important to us. We know that COVID-19 can spread easily from person-to-person, but it’s also possible for someone to contract it by touching a contaminated surface or from particles in the air.

COVID-19 Cleaning Guidelines

Masks and gloves are worn by all of our cleaning staff or anyone that enters a property, as recommended. During the cleaning and disinfecting process, the staff also minimizes face touching.

All linens and dishes are sanitized, not just the ones the guests have used.

Washing machines are set to the highest temperature allowed for cleaning linens (between 120 and 140 degrees), following hotel standard requirements.

Dishwashers are set to the highest temperature, which often reaches temperatures high enough to kill bacteria and viruses.

Areas of high touch/high contact are disinfected thoroughly. These include light switches, keypads, tables, chairs, kitchen and bathroom surfaces, window sills, cabinet knobs, door knobs, remotes, temperature controls, toys, and handrails.

The property is aired and ventilated after using chemicals to clean and disinfect.

Masks and gloves are disposed of after cleaning and disinfecting each property. Hands are washed thoroughly for a minimum of 20 seconds after the removal of gloves.

Cleaners are not working at all if they show any symptoms of COVID-19.

Our cleaning staff is putting in a lot of hard work to ensure the safety of our guests, themselves, and the community. Our COVID-19 cleaning guidelines will stay in place for as long as the CDC recommends.

We have Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) available for all of our cleaners, upon request.

Check-ins & Check-outs

We have also implemented addition measures during check-in and check-out to help keep guests safe.

Drop box used for both check-ins and check-outs to minimize contact between our guests services and guests. The public is not entering our building. We are also transitioning into key-less entry into our properties, to eliminate the materials passed back and forth. Some of our properties already utilize a keypad for entry.

Guest services wear masks and gloves while interacting with guests.

Electronic documents are also implemented to minimize the passing of materials as well as minimize the time spent at check-in.

All keys are sanitized after being used by our guests.

Minimized maintenance during guest stays also helps prevent unnecessary contact. Essential amenities are included with every rental and every stay: toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap. Our maintenance team will not go to an occupied house unless absolutely necessary.

Office Guidelines

Many at Ryson have been working from home for some time to maintain social distance. Those at the office are following strict health protocols to help keep everyone safe.

We sanitize our hands before entry to the office building. We are washing our hands often and thoroughly.

Social distancing with everyone. We utilize online communication tools and minimize movement around the office.

We are disinfecting our work areas every 2 hours. Bathrooms and door knobs are disinfected thoroughly every weekday morning.

Face coverings are encouraged to be worn while at the office.

If any staff is showing any symptoms, or have been in contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19, they are sent home.

Stay Safe

There are a few things we all can be aware of and practice to help stop the spread of this virus, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Hand sanitizer should contain at least 60% alcohol (sanitizers kill 99.9% of all known bacteria, viruses, and fungi)
  • Disinfectants and cleaning solutions should contain at least 70% alcohol
  • Cleaners should contain chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, detergents, iodophors, or alcohols
  • Ensure cleaning products have not expired
